Re:think - what could you change?

Changing behaviour

We want to get our own house in order as well as offering advice to our customers.

Rethink logoSo we've set up a Climate Change Panel of staff and customers whose aim is to challenge the way we work and look at ways for us to become 'greener'.

We've also taken on a Climate Change Officer and launched a green campaign for our staff, offering incentives for changing behaviour including ditching their cars for greener forms of transport.

What about the environment?

We're looking at ways to 'green up' our business and we've started with a full review of our own carbon footprint.

Practical solutions

Air source heat pumpsWherever possible, we're incorporating green technologies into the new homes we build, and are developing a retrofit programme for our existing homes. We have also implemented solar thermal panels and heat exchange systems in our new homes in East Anton, Andover.

All our new-build homes are now built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3. We're also improving energy-saving by fitting more efficient condensing boilers into homes when they are due for replacement. Currently, we're completely up to date with our boiler servicing so they are all running at optimal efficiency.

And there's more. We have a 3-year insulation plan to improve thermal efficiency starting with the least well-insulated and hardest to reach properties.

We're currently trialling the replacement of storage heaters with air source heat pumps.
