Changing behaviour Re:think - what could you change?

We want to get our own house in order as well as offering advice to our customers. We've set up a Climate Change Panel which includes staff and customers, challenging the way we work and looking at ways for us to become greener. Last summer we created a new post and took on a Climate Change Officer and towards the end of last year we launched a green campaign for our staff, offering incentives for changing behaviour including ditching their cars for greener forms of transport. If you'd like to join the Climate Change Panel email carolyn.whistlecraft@sentinelha.org.uk

What about the environment?

We're looking at ways to "green up" our business and have started with a full review of our own carbon footprint.

Practical solutions

Where ever possible we incorporate green technology into the new homes we build, and are developing a retrofit programme for our existing homes. We have solar thermal panels and heat exchange systems in our new homes in East Anton, Andover.

All our new build homes are built to code 3. We're improving energy efficiency and emmissions by fitting more efficient condensing boilers into homes when they are due for replacement (and are completely up to date with our boiler servicing so they are at their optimal efficiency).

Air source heat pump trial in KingsclereWe have a 3 year plan for insulation, to improve thermal effieciency, starting with the worst and hardest to reach properties. And we're trialling the replacement of storage heaters with air source heat pumps.
