Greater choice and mobility for housing applicants

From 29 March 2007 Hart District Council will  be changing the way it allocates housing association homes. Hart are introducing Hart Homes, a choice based lettings scheme. Housing association homes will be advertised on a weekly basis and applicants on the Hart Housing Register will be able to tell the Council which properties they wish to be considered for. In partnership with Guildford, Rushmoor and Waverley Councils, Hart will also be introducing a new scheme to create more opportunities for applicants to move between the areas covered by the four Councils. The scheme, to be known as HomeSelecta, will offer a small selection of properties across a range of bedroom sizes to applicants and tenants registered on any of the partner authoritys housing registers.
