Working with Sentinel Housing Association

21 September 2006 -

Over 50 contractors, consultants and residents attended a Working with Sentinel conference in Basingstoke on 8 September to mark the start of a four-year Frameworks Agreement.

Sentinel Housing Association signed the agreement with a large number of contractors and consultants after it tendered all of its major development and planned maintenance contracts through the EU Procurement route. There are also a number of other contractors that continue to work with Sentinel on a partnering basis.

The Frameworks Agreement will be used to manage the process of the allocation of building contracts and services and Sentinel will conduct a four-year review of its framework agreement in accordance with the EU Procurement Directive.

The Working with Sentinel conference was held to enable the contractors and consultants to meet the Sentinel teams, learn more about the work of the Association and its customer service philosophy and to discuss the continuing drive for efficiencies and value for money. Following an introduction from Sentinels Business Director Val Bagnall, the delegates attended workshops to discuss the upcoming programmes of work with Sentinel, the joint approach to customer service and ways of improving value for money for Sentinel residents.

John Newman, Sentinel's Development and Regeneration Manager, who attended the event, said: "It was a highly productive event as many of the companies attending had never worked with Sentinel before. Not only were staff on hand to introduce themselves to the framework companies, the development and asset management aims and goals of the organisation were also able to be discussed in great detail. Everyone is looking forward to a productive four years delivering our ambitious Development and Asset Management Programme."
