Sentinel Homescope sells properties under a variety of low cost home ownership options. However the majority of properties we build are sold on a shared ownership (part rent/part buy) basis, typically selling a 40% share. Sentinel holds the remaining portion, and shares any increases or decreases in the value of your home with you.
In this type of property relationship you are known as a ‘shared owner’ or ‘leaseholder’ until such time as you staircase to 100% ownership of your home. As a shared owner you are required by law to adhere to the terms and conditions of your lease and there are certain procedures you must follow if you are looking to make alterations, remortgage or sell etc.
