2. In addition to fulfilling any statutory responsibility to promote equality of opportunity in all our activities, we are committed to an organisational culture which values people from all sections of the community and the contribution each individual can make to our work.

3. Our overall Strategy for Equality and Diversity is to ensure that our Equality and Diversity Policy is applied fully, fairly and consistently across Sentinel Housing Association, as an integral part of all our operations, governance, staffing, partnership working and the services we provide.

This applies to:

  • Origin
  • Religion
  • Culture
  • Gender
  • Sexuality
  • Disability
  • Age
  • Responsibility for Dependants

4.  Wherever we can, we shall take action to address discrimination and harassment experienced by individuals or particular groups, as well as action to promote and achieve diversity in employment and services.

5. We aim to sustain a working environment where harassment is known to be unacceptable and where individuals can feel confident enough to bring complaints without fearing prejudice. We shall deal with harassment with the highest priority and by taking firm action against it.

6. We shall work in close partnership with other stakeholders in implementing this Strategy and the Equality & Diversity Policy.
