Residents invited to choose the look of their new kitchens

18 May 2007 -

Residents in Bishops Green got their first glimpses of how the kitchens in their new homes will look when Sentinel Housing Associations redevelopment of 95 homes is complete.

The consultation evening, where residents were able to choose the look of their new kitchen, took place on Friday 4 May at Bishops Green Village Hall. It was for residents in phase 1 of the regeneration project and about 35 people attended. They had the option to choose from three different worktops, flooring and units. Consultations for phases two and three will be held at a later date.

Sentinel is redeveloping its 95 existing homes in Bishops Green, in a project costing approximately ң20m. When the development is complete it will provide an additional 53 homes consisting of 66 social rented, six shared ownership, eight private equity sales and 68 open market sales. These will range from single bedroom flats to four bedroom family houses.

The consultation was held by Hill Partnerships the development company building the homes - who in partnership with Sentinel decided that tenants should have more choice and say in their homes.

Helena Jansson, Senior Project Development Manager at Sentinel, said: ֓We always try to offer choice when ever we can. A survey completed last year indicated that resident considered kitchen choice as a priority area for  their  input. It is always nice to meet residents who are enthusiastic about their new homes.

Phase 1 of the redevelopment is expected to be completed by spring 2008.
