Sentinel tenants get help to buy their homes

Sentinel Housing Association tenants are now able to purchase the home they rent through a new scheme called Social Homebuy.

Homebuy enables tenants to purchase all or part of the home they currently rent with the aid of a grant discount.  The scheme also allows tenants to choose  the share they purchase, from 25% to 100%, and pay a subsidised rent on the remaining shares.

Tenants can purchase further shares in their home as their financial circumstances allow.
 
Sentinel was among the first Housing Associations to participate in the scheme and to-date are helping 7 tenants purchase their home. Because of the level of interest shown by tenants Sentinel are very pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded an additional 40 grant allocations to help another 40 tenants to purchase.
