Support for If in Doubt...Keep them Out campaign

30 May 2007 -

This service costs £3.83 a week, although for those on a low income, CommuniCare can often arrange for the service to be paid for by a grant from the County Council Supporting People service.

Additionally, for £1.16 a week CommuniCare can fit ‘Bogus Call’ buttons. This simple button, (similar to a doorbell), fitted without wires next to the customer’s door, can be pressed before opening the door if the customer is unsure who is calling. Trained CommuniCare staff can then listen discretely to the caller, record the conversation and call the police if they or the customer are not happy.

Normally to install this service costs just over £20, but until the end of June the Gazette and Sentinel CommuniCare have teamed up to install them for free to any Gazette readers who would like more security in their home.

If you are interested, please call CommuniCare direct on 01256 338833, at anytime, mentioning the Gazette.

The service provides both security and independence to customers as it also enables the customer to contact trained staff in the event of an emergency such as a fall, by using the pendant alarm.

CommuniCare has been established for over 20 years and is the only service in Hampshire accredited to national standards.
