Crack house closure in Fleet
Sentinel and Hampshire Police have shut down a property in Fleet suspected of being used for drug-dealing.
Police secured a Crack House Closure Order for the house in Albany Close on April 1 from Aldershot magistrates. The order, under the Antisocial Behaviour Act 2003, means the house has been boarded up for three months, and no one may enter without prior police permission.
Neighbourhood manager Alison Bone said: "Working with the police to gather intelligence ensures we reduce drug-dealing and anti-social behaviour related to drug use, before it takes hold.
"Residents often tend to notice a sudden increase in visitors, often throughout the night, and visitors staying for a short period. We would urge anyone who suspects anything untoward going on, to call Sentinel or the police to help us investigate and stamp out dealing and nuisance behaviour in our neighbourhoods."
Fleet Safer Neighbourhoods Sergeant Dave Hill said: "Drug use and drug supply affects everyone's quality of life, especially those living within a close proximity to where the offence is taking place.
"We will continue to pursue and actively target those involved in drug-related anti-social behaviour to improve safety in the community.
"We would also urge anyone with information to contact the police immediately and in confidence."
Anyone with any information should contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods team in confidence on 0845 045 45 45 or Sentinel on 0800 195 5515.
