New Multiagency effort for Farnborough estate
A new one-stop shop has opened in Farnborough to create a safer neighbourhood on the Pyestock estate.
The centre was set up Sentinel Housing Association, Rushmoor Borough Council, and Hampshire Police, and will be used for community roadshows, crime reduction iniatives and local surgeries and drop-ins.
The investment continues the drive to improve safety on Pyestock, following Sentinel’s £30m regeneration of the estate to provide 238 new affordable homes.
Pyestock’s new neighbourhood coordinator Sarah Morrisen: "This new facility will give the local community a focal point where they’ll be able to meet us, the police, youth or community workers, or fire safety officers.
Rushmoor council leader Cllr Peter Moyle added: “I’m delighted the centre’s now open. It will provide a much-needed facility for residents to be able to meet with local agencies and to raise issues that affect their lives.”
Acting Insp Jon Turton, said the move would strengthen the way the police engage with the community, and that local beat surgeries would soon be operating.
