Sentinel works with residents to improve a Blackwater neighbourhood

30 June 2006 -

Sentinel Housing Association has been successful in taking action against an anti-social resident living in a Blackwater neighbourhood.

Robert 'Bobby' Terence Dennison of 126 Hearsey Gardens was made the subject of an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction order on 20 June 2006 at Aldershot and Farnham County Court.

The order is the result of action taken by Sentinel, with the help of residents in the area, following a number of complaints regarding threats and physical assaults by Bobby Dennison in Hearsay Gardens.

  • The conditions of the Order which will remain in force until 20 June 2007, mean Bobby Dennison is forbidden (whether by himself or encouraging any other person):
from using or threatening to use violence, towards tenants and their visitors or staff of Sentinel Housing Association,
  • from using threatening or aggressive language toward the tenants and their visitors and the staff of Sentinel Housing Association,
  • from harassing tenants and their visitors and the staff of Sentinel Housing Association (these conditions are relevant to: Any tenants, or persons having a right to reside, in property in Hearsey Gardens, Blackwater or Rosemary Lane, Blackwater, Any persons engaged in lawful activity in Hearsey Gardens, Blackwater or Rosemary Lane, Blackwater),
  • from damaging or threatening to damage any property owned by Sentinel Housing Association.

Anti-social Behaviour Officer Beth Holmyard said: We take all incidents of anti-social behaviour very seriously and work closely with local agencies, such as the police and council to combat it, but most important is the help that we get from local residents. I hope that residents in this area will see that we can get a good result and make a difference if we work together to tackle this behaviour.

Should Bobby Dennison not obey the order, he could be found guilty of contempt of court and may be sent to prison.

Residents of Hearsey Gardens and Rosemary Lane, Blackwater have been advised that should they witness Bobby Dennison carrying out any of the conditions listed, they should contact either Sentinel or the police.
