European Games winner Robin Tobin presents local kids with certificates

The kids of Bishops Green are in for a treat this Friday as Robin Tobin, the four times 400 silver medals winner at the European Games, will present them with certificates for taking part in Sentinel Housing Associations Get With scheme.

Organised by Sentinel, Get With is a free youth activity programme for kids aged eight to sixteen which is run at various locations in the area throughout the school holidays. The aim of Get With is to alleviate anti-social behaviour often associated with school holiday boredom.

This Friday's Get With event will be held at Bishops Green Community Centre, Beech Road, Newbury between 1pm and 4pm and will bring a close to the summer holiday sessions. The kids attending will be able to take part in multi-sports and arts & craft activities.  Robin Tobin, who has also won medals for the 400 flat and is ranked second in England, will present the kids with certificates for participating in the activities taking place on the day. Tobin will also be talking to the kids and showing them his medal that he got at the European Games in the 4x400 relay.   

Over 70 Get With sessions have taken place throughout the summer holidays at various locations across North Hampshire, including Basingstoke, Newbury, Hook, Fleet and Blackwater. Activities that have taken place at the sessions have included football, tennis, cheerleading, hockey, and a mix of other multi sports and arts and craft activities.
