TeleCare. Great gadgets to help you stay independent

As well as providing safe, affordable homes and round-the-clock alarm call service, Sentinel can also install our TeleCare service - electronic sensors that enable older or disabled people to live independently.

These sensors are fitted to a special alarm unit that tells us if there's a problem. This enables us to:

• Detect when someone falls and provide automatic lights to prevent accidents from happening
• Detect a fire in the home
• Detect a flood
• Detect when someone with dementia goes out at night
• Issue reminders and manage medication.

How much is TeleCare?

Hampshire County Council has asked us to provide this service to the communities of Basingstoke, Fleet and Rushmoor, from just a few pounds a week.

However, if you're already renting a CommuniCare alarm or you live in sheltered housing, then TeleCare is FREE of charge.

If you don't have a community alarm, you can rent one from us for less than £4.00 per week.

Can I try before I buy?

Of course you can. Simply call us on 01256 338 833 so we can arrange a visit and find out a little bit more about what help you need.

If you want to go ahead, we'll supply and install everything and explain how it all works. We'll connect it up to our 24-hour alarm centre and agree with you how you want us to respond - such as calling your friends or relatives, or visiting you in person.

How does TeleCare work?

To demonstrate how our products work, we've set up a demonstration flat at Gregory House, Elms Road, Hook. From here, you'll be able to see how unobtrusive the alarm and sensors are and watch them in action. And if you have any questions, you'll also be able to discuss how TeleCare works with a member of the TeleCare team.

We welcome visits, by appointment, from interested groups, their advocates and supporters and from people who work in the housing, care or health industries.
