Q. How can I pay my rent?
A. There are loads of ways you can pay your rent and Direct Debit, is the easiest. We can set this up for you with your bank and then your rent is paid automatically. Standing Order, is like DD and you can set this up with your bank. You can pay by cheque by posting it to us or dropping into one of our offices, please remember to write your tenancy number on the back of your cheque. You can pay by cash at our offices, our Basingstoke office is unable to provide any change. You can pay by Debit Card over the phone, at our offices or online. And finally if you have an Allpay card you can pay at any outlet displaying the Allpay sign or online.
Q. Can I go on the Housing List?
A. Housing waiting lists are managed by your local council. You will need to complete a Housing Needs Registration form, which we can post to you or you can download from your council website.
Q. How can I move house?
A. There are a number of ways you can move. You can swap your home with another Sentinel tenant or someone living in another housing association or council home. This is called a mutual exchange, take a look at www.homeswapper.co.uk
You can also transfer to another home through your local council. You will need to complete a housing needs registration form which we can post to you or you can be collect from our offices. You can also download the forms from your council's website.
Q. How much notice do I have to give when ending my tenancy?
A. If you want to move out of your Sentinel home you need give us 4 weeks notice from a Monday. There are some occasions when only 2 weeks notice is necessaray. Please contact us to find out more.
Q. Is it ok to put up a shed or sky dish?
A. Yes, you just need to email or write to us asking for permission.
Q. What is Central Heating Services telephone number?
A. For all repairs and services to gas appliances that are over 1 year old, please telephone Central Heating Services on 0800 917 9306.
Q. What are my rent clear weeks this year?
A. For customers in the Hart and Rushmoor area: Week commencing 29th March and Week Commencing 27th December
For customers in the Basingstoke and Deane and Andover area: Week commencing 29th March, 5th April, 20th December and 27th December
Q. If I pay by direct debit, do I still benefit from rent clear weeks?
A. Yes. Your monthly Direct Debit payment is worked out taking the rent clear weeks into account. Then your rent payment is taken out every month.
