How we operate

The Sentinel Board, structure and affiliations

Sentinel is run by a board of 12, including five resident board members, plus others drawn from a wide mix of backgrounds in both the public and private sectors.

The board is here to direct, control and monitor all our work - from where to build new homes to how much we invest in improving existing homes. The board meets 10 times a year.

Further accountability is provided by four councillors representing Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council and Hart District Council - where 90% of our homes are located.

Our executive team is the top level of management responsible for day-to-day matters ensuring that the board's wishes are carried out.

Sentinel is organised into four directorates - development, neighbourhoods, care & support, and finance. Other back office functions report to the Chief Executive.

Although Sentinel Housing is an independent housing association and not part of a group, we do have affiliations and partnerships to ensure the best possible deal for our local area.

We have joined the Placeshapers Group - a lobby group of 50 locally focused housing associations committed to tackling complex social problems alongside our landlord function.

Go to 'Who we work with' to find out more about our partners.
